Edward Mordake – The man was born with two faces
The weridest deformity case of Edward Mordake is very rare and probably unknown to most people.Edward Mordake was a 19th century English nobleman born with an odd deformity ( Diprosopus), he had an extra face on the back of his head .his extra face occupying the posterior part of his skull. According to the story, the extra face could neither eat nor speak, but it could cry, laugh and whispers. he often complained the other face whispered horrible things to him at night . Edward begged doctors to remove his extra face , but no doctor would attempt to remove, fearing it might cost him his life.
He used poison to commit suicide at the age of 23 because he could no longer stand having to live with the face on the back of his head and asked in his suicide letter that the ‘devil face’ might be destroyed before his burial, ‘lest it continues its dreadful whisperings in my grave.’
At his own request he was interred in a waste place, without stone or legend to mark his grave.
Edward wasn’t the only person with this problem. In history there are 2 famous cases, the ones of Chang Tzu Ping and Pasqual Pinon.
